So your book is published be it one of the big publishers, a small indie publisher or you’ve self-published. Think your work is done. NO WAY! If you want some measure of success you’re going to need to get out there and sell, sell, sell.
It not the fun part but if you want share your story with readers you have to get it in front of them.
One advantage we current writers have that wasn’t available just a few years ago is Social Media. We can put our book out in an e-mail, on Facebook, Twitter, google+ or other platforms and if just a few of our friends or followers share it can grow exponentially.
Let’s not forget the traditional methods starting with a press release in your local paper or your hometown’ s or the book’s setting paper. See if you can set up signings in bookstores, libraries or other venues. Have other groups you belong too tell them about your book. Be it your church, your bridge group, or a most important one your book discussion group. Shoot I even showed my book to the people at the gym where I work out.
So get up off the couch and get out there and sell yourself or sit on the couch and let your fingers do the work on smart phone, laptop, tablet, iPad or my favorite the Kindle fire.
